• The SETI Institute (Search for Extra-Terrestrial Intelligence) is constantly monitoring the skies for potential communication from intelligent life from other stars.
  One particularly fascinating project is SETI@Home, set to launch next year, which will allow anyone to use the idle processing time of their own computers to help analyze data (much like the RC5-breaking project).

• The Planetary Society is a non-profit organization co-founded by Carl Sagan which focuses on promotion of the exploration of the solar system and the search for extra-terrestrial life.
